Fall is almost here, and summer’s end is closing in on us fast! The time to get projects done at the club for this year is winding down, but we still have projects on SignUpGenius™ that can be done before the end of the year. There is the installation of the two parking posts by the Race Shed that still needs to be done, installation of rope along the parking posts, and several other projects. The Grounds Committee is continuing to work on their list of projects this month, including having ceiling fans installed at the shelters to cool things off. They will also be installing new LED lights in the boat parking area next to the playground to complete our LED light upgrade. IPL has had their contractors putting a new main electric feed into the club to fix the issues we have had with losing power this summer. Please be careful around the areas IPL has excavated.
Have a wonderful and restful Labor Day weekend, and I hope to see you all at the Governor’s Cup/Lobster Fest events! Thanks to all of our club volunteers for all their kind assistance with recent events and work around the club. We appreciate all you do to keep ECSC a wonderful place to be!

Can you believe it is September already! The Labor Day Cookout will be hosted by Kenny Chapman and his crew! They will begin serving at 3:30 on Monday, September 3rd! Bring a dish to pass and enjoy some comradery with fellow sailors.
Our Lobster Fest is scheduled for September 15th at 6:00pm. John George and Bob Hickock have been instrumental in the planning process and I cannot thank them enough!!
Lobster and Steak along with Dennis’s famous Seafood Boil will be the main menu. Please bring a dish to pass and an appetite! Cost is $15 per Lobster and $15 per Steak. Please click the link below to RSVP and reserve your Steak and/or Lobster. We will be accepting RSVP orders through September 10th. Any RSVPs after the 10th and day of event will be a $20 charge. All “day of event” purchases will be asked to wait until all prepaid attendees check in to assure they receive their order.

If you are sailing in the Governor’s Cup Regatta, you do not need to RSVP on the Lobster Fest Evite. We will capture your orders through your Regatta registration.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions! If you wish to volunteer for this event, we could still use some individuals for our cleanup crew.

With August gone and September here, sailing season is coming to an end so make sure to get out on your boat and enjoy some of the best days of the season while you can. If you are still looking for work credits, now is the time to get them. We still have several jobs that need to be done. One in particular that I would like to see done before the end the season is water sealing the dock that was replaced last year. Everything that is needed to get this job done is already at the club. All that is needed is you and a willingness to work and earn work credits. Winter storage is coming upon us quick. Please remember there is no trailer parking or boat storage in the car corral or on the beach until after the Hornback Regatta and Chili-cookoff. That means no earlier than 3 o’clock on Sunday, October 14. If you feel the need to get your trailer out of storage early please park in the boat parking lots.

Online Governor’s Cup registration closes on Friday, September 7th, 2018 (optional mail in registration at club website) – Your $50 entry gets you racing Saturday and Sunday with awards and prizes for all, continental breakfast both days, specially designed regatta tech shirt, and one LOBSTER or STEAK dinner (Saturday). Note: Additional dinners for family, or friends can be purchased for $20.00.
We currently have 6 Catalina 22’s and one J24 registered, and a reminder to everyone, the largest fleet takes the cup!

A big welcome to Peggy Shortridge of Indianapolis. Peggy is family to members, Ki and Erin Hickok and will be a Lake Associate Member as she has a home on Eagle Creek. We will look forward to seeing Peggy at our social functions.
Be sure to attend the Labor Day Cook Out at 3:30 on Monday September 3. Bring your favorite covered dish. Also put the Lobster Fest on your calendar for Saturday evening, September 15. You must make a reservation for this and pay ahead as our famous lobsters are flown in from Maine for that occasion so we need a good count. Steaks also available on request.
