February is here the harbor and Lake are frozen and like a lot of people sailing is the last thing on your mind, but it’s always the first thing on my mind. You’ll be receiving your membership packets soon and I get a lot of questions about Docks assignments so her are some answers to your questions.
First and foremost slips are assigned based on seniority. If you already have a permanent Dock assignment and wish to be assigned a different dock please fill out your change of slip request and I will call you based on seniority and give you first choice on available slips at that time. For those of you who do not have a permanent dock assignment please fill out the slip request form and you will be assigned a slip based on seniority. I will do my best to get everyone in a slip that wants one.
With that said let’s talk about the 48 hour Docks. They are exactly that – 48 hour Docks. They are also for people that want to put the boat in the water for the weekend or for visitors during regatta weekends. I don’t mind boats sitting there a little bit longer than 48 hours but please don’t abuse this privilege. Just because they’re open don’t assume that they are available for the whole season. The 48 hour is not free unlimited parking. Also, as always, please remember to lock the gate when you leave. This is especially important during the winter season.
